Inspired by Bonnard, Spring, and a sense of optimism, I wanted to make a group of paintings full of energy, colour, pattern and marks.My paintings of individual fruit had a quiet still peaceful presence. My new pieces have a more joyful confident energy – less of a whisper, more of a song.
Embracing the theme of the domestic interior, I have opened up the still life theme to include figures, windows, life and air – a sense of place and time. The paintings have a sense of intimacy and thoughtfulness, that I hope you enjoy.
